drifting in teal

This was one of the first pieces created for my drifting series. As such, there is no video recording of my process. I hope that the textures showing through from earlier layers help to tell the story of this painting's creation.

This painting symbolizes the newfound excitement I have for life while pursuing my passion. For years, I struggled with a number of mental health conditions unknowingly. Receiving diagnoses was fundamental for me to begin to heal, and truly start the journey of finding myself. I was overactive as a child, and fortunate enough to have parents that could support my whims. This artwork captures my return to a child-like state of wonder and whimsy.
