drifting in purple

This was one of the first pieces created for my drifting series. As such, there is no video recording of my process. I hope that the textures showing through from earlier layers help to tell the story of this painting's creation.

This artwork symbolizes an awakening. With each brushstroke, I gained confidence in the realization that life has no rules. Therefore art can have no rules, and especially abstract art can have no rules. As somebody who has felt tied down by the unspoken rules of society, I am ecstatic to have found an outlet to truly express myself.
